New Certifications
Certified Welding Inspector- Steve Barrie
Steve Barrie is the Technical Director of MTC’s Burlington Office. He attained his Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification at the end of February, which requires a minimum of five years of experience, as well as extensive code and practical field knowledge. The CWI is issued by the American Welding Society to reflect an advanced understanding of the science of welding, and to signify that accredited individuals have the skills set necessary to provide advanced welding inspections. Structural Steel Inspector – Michael Currie
In January Michael attained his Structural Steel Inspector’s certification through the International Code Council (ICC). This ups the tally of ICC-certified MTC employee’s to six, and further expands our ability to provide our clients with highly accredited professional inspectors. The ICC requires a minimum of three years experience, and the demonstration of advanced code knowledge and plan reading capabilities.
Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead – Kevin Walters
Since September 2010 Kevin has been acting as Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) for the 26M dollar Bellingham Technical College Student Campus Center. Kevin attained accreditation with ECO-3, and as a trained geologist is able to implement unique solutions to stormwater management issues. MTC’s ability to provide our clients with professional CESCL services in accordance with Washington State Department of Ecology regulations has expanded as a result of Kevin’s accreditation, and we are proud to offer these services.
