Materials Testing and Consulting, Inc., “MTC”, currently has an opening for a dynamic, innovative, driven and outgoing person to lead our marketing and business development efforts.  In a down economy, MTC has maintained a strong market share and looks to expand.  We’re actively seeking an individual experienced in marketing construction materials testing and special inspection.  The successful candidate will posses a proven track record in marketing and construction business development including face-to-face client relations and cold calling; lead generation, organization and management; preparation of fee proposals, RFQ/RFP and SF330 submittals, PowerPoint and misc. client presentations.

Minimum Required Experience

1. 5+ years in the construction industry (commercial, industrial, public works) with technical knowledge of the testing/special inspection industry.
2. 5+ years performing marketing and business development duties.
3. High school diploma

Desired Experience

1. Experience performing construction materials testing and/or special inspection services
2. Bachelor of Arts or Science, or equivalent 4 year college degree.

We’re proud to announce Mark Gordon as the new WABO Technical Director in ourOlympia office.  Mark has been with MTC for 3 years and has demonstrated excellence in his knowledge and execution of testing and special inspection, both in the field and laboratory.  Recently he passed the WABO interview and attained the TD certification.  Congratulations Mark!

Starting July 19^th we welcome Casey Curran as the new General Manager of theOlympia office.  Casey brings a broad depth of experience to MTC having owned and managed a testing/inspection firm inCalifornia.  Casey’s background includes securing and performing work with national retail clients and the US Army Corp of Engineers while staffing multiple mobile laboratories in several states on large projects.    With our recent success and growing staff inOlympia, Casey is going to be an outstanding addition to build on the momentum.

Ross Bichel, an 11 year MTC employee, recently earned his AWS Certified Welding Inspector license.  Anybody who knows anything about inspections knows that this license is very difficult to attain.  Ross passed on his first attempt taking the test and now adds another great service opportunity to our clients.  Great work Ross.  (And when you see him next time, be sure to ask Ross to show you his stamp!)

Chuck Hasty just celebrated his 10 year anniversary with MTC.  He’s currently working as a resident inspector on the high profile Proton Therapy project in Seattle and has an outstanding track record on hospital projects including Skagit Valley Hospital, CascadeValleyHospital,  and Island Hospital.  Thank you Chuck for your years of hard work and successful projects with MTC!
