Course Description-
Construction costs are commonly multiplied by many magnitudes when disputes between involved parties are forced to legal resolutions. During this hour-long lunch presentation the benefits of developing proactive teaming solutions, as well as the advantages of resolution through arbitration will be presented. Our speakers for this seminar speak from a long career of experience in regards to this issue.
Don Logerwell has over 30 years of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) experience. He is an expert at reducing the cost of construction disputes by reaching amicable solutions and avoiding full legal proceedings. Through his experience we will learn that alternatives exist to standard conflict resolution, as well as how to avoid the common traps that result in arbitration, or worse, lawsuit.
Dick Andrews is a construction management specialist with over 40 years of experience. He is a former head Snohomish County Construction Manager, and currently heads a construction management firm focused on developing synergistic teaming concepts designed to avoid legal claims. Mr. Andrews will provide a vision of avoidance incorporated during design, with the intent of reducing risk and, ultimately, construction costs.
